EduApps family: AccessApps, TeachApps and LearnApps

The EduApps family which consists of AccessApps, LearnApps and TeachApps shown in a diagram

What is it?

AccessApps was very quickly seen as a huge step forward in offering software that helped with accessibility and inclusion on a memory stick, but the Scottish RSCs quickly realised that there was a need for some free applications for both learners and teachers/tutors and so EduApps was born.

The original AccessApps has a wide ranging collection of 50 applications that are particularly useful in the context of assisitve technology.  Better than that all the applications are free, either open source or freeware.  Even better than that they will all run directly from a USB memory stick! AccessApps is an initiative supported by the JISC Regional Support Centres (RSC) and JISC TechDis. It consists of over 50 open source and freeware Microsoft Windows applications, running from a USB stick. AccessApps provides a range of solutions to support writing, reading and planning as well as sensory, cognitive and physical difficulties. What does it cover?

The best way for you to really find out what it covers is to get a copy and try them out.  It is a comprehensive range of e-learning solutions to support writing, reading and planning as well as visual and mobility difficulties.
