RSC Northern Supported Sectors

1. Adult and Community Learning
   
   The Regional Support Centre began working with the ACL sector in 2004 working closely with NIACE to support the wider national ACL e-Learning strategy.
   
   
2. Further Education
   
   We provide a wide range of support and advisory services which are available to FE and Sixth Form Colleges.  These includes  strategic and specialist advice on the development of e-learning,  guidance on provider infrastructure and systems development, assisting  curriculum and learning resources staff embed e-learning and  e-resources into teaching and learning and identifying e-learning staff development needs.  
   
   
3. Higher Education
   
   The Regional Support Centre supports HE within FE. This support is similar to that already offered by the RSC for FE Sector: supporting designated Higher Education Learners in FE Colleges in the Northern Region.
   
   
4. Work Based Learning
   
   Work Based Learning in this context refers to those providers who deliver apprenticeships and advanced apprenticeships, entry to employment and train to gain for post 16 learners.
   
   
5. Specialist Colleges
   
   RSC Northern support for the specialist colleges began in the summer of 2003, working in partnership with the JISC service Techdis. Identified colleges have been eligible for support and funding to assist with the uptake of ILT.
